So I sent it back and ordered up a 1102E 100 MHz replacement.Bill Mearahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07662500663603350847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7590176649168185428.post-55694737558275294222014-01-06T21:45:07.243-05:002014-01-06T21:45:07.243-05:00The 100MHz DS1102E is a much better value (sorry t...The 100MHz DS1102E is a much better value (sorry to spoil the parade). There is a firmware "hack" to turn a DS1052E into a 100MHz scope, but it is pretty old now and requires downgrading your firmware to a previous version, which has drawbacks of its own. As a rough rule of thumb, your scope BW should be around four times the frequency of the signal you are measuring. So for HF work, a 100MHz scope just about cuts it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7590176649168185428.post-83546948382948233952013-12-26T10:14:01.446-05:002013-12-26T10:14:01.446-05:00Yea, that oxygen free coax is expensive, but it re...Yea, that oxygen free coax is expensive, but it really helps! The other day I heard this on 17 meters: "My friend is having trouble on 60 meters. His rig works on some channels but not on others. I think it is because he is running a 1/4 wave dipole. I told him that he should put up a half wave dipole so he can cover the rest of the band..." Hmmm.
