New Overhead Photo of Apollo 11 Site
The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter recently took this shot of Tranquillity Base. This was from 30 miles (50 km) up. Very cool.

Thanks, Bill, this is really cool. Last summer, my niece met the Apollo 11 crew at the White House on the day of the 40th anniversary (yikes!) of the landing. She asked me later why every one was making such a big deal over them (can you believe it?). I told her because they have the largest cajones in the world!
ReplyDelete72 and thanks for the blog and book.

That's "cojones" ...or "güevos" here in Mexico. Great photo, indeed! Remember all of those Apollo missions...staying up late, or getting up early...to watch the launches and progress on TV. Still remember Apollo 11 landing.
