2025 ARRL Technical Service Award

Thanks to the ARRL for the award.  It is much appreciated.  Thanks too to all the people who built this receiver.  There are more than 100 of them and they come from all around the world.  We hope that they will go on to become homebrew Elmers, and help others to discover "the magic that emerges in a room full of solder smoke, and that only comes from a receiver that you have built yourself."

And special thanks to Bruce KC1FSZ for nominating us for this award.

  7. For decades now, the word "enable" has taken on a bad smell owing to its pop-psychology associations with "codependence," alcoholism, and indeed any unhealthy behavior made possible by a "significant other." This is unfortunate, because true enablers should be honored, and this award has done so in this case. Bill's and Dean's efforts in encouraging "homebrewing" and teaching skills that go along with it through the DCR Challenge have certainly enabled many and will enable many more with their excellent documentation and videos. No one ever said, "Blessëd are the enablers," but now the ARRL has.
