The Solar Eclipse in Spain, Balloons, and Veritasium

This was all pretty cool.  There was a lot of good scientific info.  I had noticed the crescent shapes on the ground during earlier solar eclipses (from tree leaves!), but I never knew WHY we were seeing them. Thanks for the explanation Veritasium.

There was also a cool balloon launch and recovery, and some great video recovered from the balloon.

It looked like everyone had a great eclipse in Spain.

  1. I caught that video right when it came out, incredibly well made. A clear explanation of why and when we see them and just how many per year are possible. The video made the eclipse occurrences a lot less complicated or seemingly random.
Great example of how good the Veritasium channel can be. 73!

  2. Where I live we were expecting to see a bit of the eclipse , but about an hour before the start the clouds rolled in --- so typical...
