Into Space (almost) with the Basic Stamp

L. Paul Verhage has been a leader in the edge-of-space balloon game for a long time now. This morning, Hack-A-Day led me to a site that has an on-line version of his book, and a collection of his balloon and Basic Stamp articles for Nuts-and-Volts. Inspirational stuff.

  1. Bill,

Here's an interesting site I stumbled upon, about another Amateur Radio balloon project from the 70's:

  2. High Altitude Balloons are pretty amazing when you think about it. Amateur radio really provides quite the opportunity to get involved! I really enjoyed the website about the HALO 2 balloon. While not amateur radio, it is very impressive, especially the presentation of the data, thoroughness, and high quality videos with audio! I am amazed at the 90,000+ ft elevation video with the quite breeze going by, its really amazing.
