Looking for a Web Person to Create a WordPress Staging/Backup site for this blog.


I can supply the backup files and the Template backup.  I need someone who can create a backup site for this blog.   I think it should be in WordPress.  It should include all the posts and comments, pictures and videos in the current blog.  It would be great if it used the same Template as the current blog.  I want to keep the current blog going indefinitelty, but we need a backup site that could be used if Google suddenly decides to "deprecate" blogspot. 

Please let me know if you can help or if you know someone who can.  We will pay.  We can discuss this before any work begins.

    Bill, I have the same concern about my blogger blog. I believe there is a way to migrate from blogger to Wordpress but I haven't tried it. It looks like it's a feature of a commercial Wordpress.com account https://wordpress.com/support/import/coming-from-blogger/ Not sure about replicating your current (beautiful) layout though.
    If no one better steps up, I'd be happy to collaborate.

      I think you are thinking about medical doctors. I think Google's version was "Don't be evil." Hmmm.

      Yup. Evil is harmful. Anyway a backup is essential. GroupsIO is an effective vehicle and has been around a while. I am on their daily. Have you looked into their plarform ?

      Yep same here, WP is an endless catchup on updates that breaks stuff. Constant target of getting hacked. Over complicated to use and and excuse for "website designers" for an overpriced "Maintenance" contract". I use Squarespace.com for all my sites without a hit of troubl. HOWEVER I see why Bill likely has no other choice because to my knowledge it's not possible to copy the content of his current site and blog to anything other than WP ;-(

    Well, for almost 20 years Blogspot has been free, and pretty good. And backup on the Internet Archive is also free and is also pretty good. But thanks for the info. 73 Bill N2CQR

    Clearly the previous post was about WP Bill. BlogSpot,although free to use
