Very interesting video! True, there is lots of manual winding done, some with tools to prevent kinking. Also automatic shuttle winders are used by the RF/Microwave industry.

This is a step-by-step procedure for setup which takes some time. Very fast and uniform winding. The microwave guys have machines for much smaller cores.
