K.P.S. Kang's Speech Processor and Antenna Tuner for the BITX (and other rigs)

Check out the blog of homebrew wizard K.P.S. Kang.   OM has a nice speech processor based on the LM386.   He also has a very simple antenna tuner and SWR bridge.  FB OM.

  1. The clipper uses an LM358 dual opamp, not an LM386 power amp.

I thought audio clipping was not good for SSB, though I can't remember why. So compressors were the way to go. IF limiting did work, Squires id work on that. But you need an IF filter afterwards, which often meant two crystal filters. Though there was some success with limited limiting of the DSB signal, then through the IF filter to clear out the harmonics and the extra sideband.
