To forestall misinterpretation, the NRA eagle on the wall above the fiend stands for the National Recovery Administration, a New Deal agency from the 1930s. Businesses and even homes across the United States had NRA eagle placards in their windows with the motto, "We Do Our Part." There is no connection between this NRA and the organization that is currently known in the United States by the same initials. --K7TFC (retired professor of American History)
