Been playing with my Pi. Currently making a digital SSTV beacon to transmit periodic HD webcam images from our field day site over the club repeater.
ReplyDeleteI am learning that the Pi has terrible audio capabilities with lots of pops, crackles etc in the audio. It appears to be a problem with the driver for the broadcom chipset not being very good right now.
The latest firmware cuts down on it enough to at least get the data through, but there is still a constant crackling on the audio output.
There is still some growing to go on the Pi before its 100% useful for some ham radio stuff, especially if your doing to outputting any audio into a radio for psk/sstv/packet etc.
Just something to be aware of.
