First I mounted the variable cap (from an old Johnson rig) and the roller inductor on a suitably sized piece of wood:
Then I put the tuner inside an old cooler. I drilled holes in the bottom for the coax and the antenna wire and the ground.
Here it is at the feed point. Pretty cool, don't you think?
And here it is 24 hours later:
The blizzard has been quite impressive. Early this morning it featured lightning and thunder!

ReplyDeleteThe National Weather Service doesn't use The Weather Channel's marketing names for winter storms and neither should you. "The Blizzard of 2016" will do nicely, or "Snowzilla" if you follow social media.

ReplyDeleteLove the cooler idea! I've got mine in a Rubbermaid storage bin with the top held fast by a few bungees. It sounds/looks terrible, but it's been that way for 12 years and given me no problems, so I ain't gonna mess with it!
