ReplyDeleteBy the way, did you notice the SolderSmoke blog is now over a million views? Great work.

Thanks for the mention in the mailbag and on the blog! Oh, and by the way, I am 50, and an analog hardware guy, and it's always been klooge for me. I did a quick informal Twitter poll, and it was 10:1 in favor of klooge.
ReplyDeleteI think it's time to abandon Single Sideband. Check out these guys doing FDMDV and Codec2. They are getting their phone communications down to 1.1khz bandwidth!
ReplyDeleteAs hams shouldn't we be striving to use the least bandwidth possible? SSB at about 3khz, come on, that's just selfish!
Ok, if you hadn't guessed I am not serious about this at all! But as an argument how is it any different then these guys that speak out against DSB or AM?
I like kludge 'as in fudge' too. I make no claims it is 'correct'. I probably read it with nobody around to pronounce it for me long before I ever heard it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI like kludge because it reminds me of trudge as in I just keep trudging through the snow instead of shoveling my driveway or bludgeon as in rather than fix it properly I just bludgeoned it until it worked.
That's just my 2 cents though and it is probably overpriced at that.
Hi Bill! Cograts on reaching the 150 mark. Somewhere Mike has a smile on his face.
